Sponsored by the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra, Professor Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, the institute organized a workshop titled “From Qualification to Empowerment: Women in the Oil and Private Sectors Between Opportunities and Challenges” as part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event was held in the Discussions and Seminars Hall with the attendance of a number of students and interested participants.

The workshop featured a number of specialized contributions. Ms. Ghusoon Naeem Nader, Regional Recruitment Manager at Mselect Company, delivered a presentation on modern labor market requirements and the importance of professional qualification and acquiring competitive skills. Engineer Noor Al-Shuwaili from Lukoil Company shared her experience in the oil sector, highlighting the challenges and opportunities available to women in this field. Meanwhile, Ms. Saba Al-Eidani from Kent Company discussed the importance of continuous training and leadership development as essential foundations for professional empowerment.

This event comes within the framework of the Southern Technical University’s efforts to promote the culture of entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment by strengthening communication with labor market institutions and creating a supportive environment for developing the skills of students and graduates, in line with development goals and labor market demands.
