For the second consecutive day, the Dean of the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra, Professor Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, continued participating in the peaceful sit-in held in front of the Southern Technical University gate, alongside the deans of the university’s colleges and institutes, in support of the protesting university staff members.
This participation reflected the official stance in support of the demands of academic, technical, and administrative personnel, particularly the call to reverse the decision to suspend the allowances of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, due to its direct negative impact on the living and professional conditions of employees within educational institutions.
Participants in the sit-in reaffirmed their commitment to legal and peaceful means in conveying their legitimate demands, stressing the importance of safeguarding the rights of academic, administrative, and technical staff in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, while ensuring the stability of the educational process in universities and institutes.
This participation comes within the framework of the Administrative Technical Institute’s commitment to standing alongside its staff and the members of the Southern Technical University community, defending their professional rights in a manner that serves the public interest and supports the advancement of higher education in Iraq.
