The Administrative Technical Institute in Basra organized a scientific workshop entitled “How to Choose the Right Journal for Your Research”, hosted by the Continuing Education Unit in collaboration with the Department of Materials Management Technologies, held in the institute’s Discussions and Seminars Hall.
The workshop, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hamed Shaker Mahmoud, focused on key academic topics, including strategies for selecting reputable journals for scientific publication, criteria for comparing local and international journals, an introduction to trusted databases, and ways to avoid predatory journals. These guidelines aim to improve the quality of research and increase the chances of publication acceptance.
The session saw active participation from faculty members and researchers, who posed numerous questions and contributions that enriched the discussion and achieved the workshop’s academic and training objectives, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to supporting scientific research and developing its members’ academic publishing skills.
