Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University, the University Rankings Unit organized a workshop titled “Reviewing Our University’s Position in Global Rankings for 2025” at the Continuing Education Center of Southern Technical University on Wednesday, 24/12/2025, at 10:00 AM.
The workshop aimed to highlight the university’s current standing in global rankings, explain the standards used by reputable international institutions, and discuss strategies to improve the university’s position through enhancing academic and research performance, as well as developing quality indicators and institutional accreditation.
The sessions also emphasized the importance of raising awareness among faculty members and researchers regarding global ranking requirements, highlighting their pivotal role in supporting the university’s academic reputation and boosting its competitiveness both locally and internationally, in line with higher education strategic plans.
The workshop witnessed active participation and constructive discussions, with attendees contributing valuable insights, stressing the importance of continuing such specialized workshops to advance the university’s scientific and institutional progress.
Prof. Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, Dean of the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra, attended the workshop along with a number of academic leaders, faculty members, and researchers.
