The President of Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, delivered the address on behalf of Iraqi universities at the central graduation ceremony for female students from Iraqi and Islamic universities, held under the patronage of the Holy Abbasid Shrine in Karbala. In his speech, he expressed his pride and deep appreciation for this distinguished group of graduates, describing them as a shining force and a cornerstone of the nation’s scientific and professional future.

He emphasized that holding this celebration in the city of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) carries profound spiritual and academic significance, as it brings together the sanctity of the place with the nobility of knowledge. He noted that Iraqi universities have made important strides in empowering women academically and professionally, and that today’s female students stand as inspiring models of excellence and creativity.

The university president also praised the vital role played by the Holy Abbasid Shrine and its custodian, His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Ahmed Al-Safi, in supporting higher education through scientific and cultural initiatives that strengthen a sense of belonging and responsibility. He called upon the graduates to serve as honorable ambassadors for their universities and their country, and to contribute to their communities with knowledge, dedication, and integrity.

He concluded his address by praying to Almighty God to grant the graduates success in their future endeavors, to protect Iraq and its people, and to preserve the blessings of security and faith throughout the country.
