The Technical Administrative Institute held a workshop titled \u201cProtecting Society from Extremism in Light of the Law\u201d in celebration of the International Day for Countering Extremism. The event was organized by the University Psychological Counseling Unit in cooperation with the Head of the High Commission for Community Conflict Resolution in Basra, the Intelligence Agency \/ Department of Technology and Informatics, and the National Security Service.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight the legal frameworks and preventive measures necessary to protect society from the dangers of extremist ideology, promote a culture of moderation and tolerance, and emphasize the complementary role of academic and security institutions in strengthening intellectual and social security.<\/p>\n

The workshop featured several scientific and discussion sessions addressing the causes and motives behind extremism, as well as mechanisms for prevention and treatment from legal, psychological, and social perspectives. It also reviewed national efforts aimed at monitoring and combating extremist phenomena in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n

Participants stressed the importance of joint cooperation among educational institutions, specialized agencies, and civil society organizations in order to strengthen young people intellectually, enhance their legal awareness, and build a safe university environment that supports dialogue and acceptance of others.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, organizers emphasized the need to continue such awareness activities due to their positive impact on promoting social peace and reinforcing the principles of the rule of law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
