The Administrative Technical Institute in Basra, through its Studies and Planning Division, organized an awareness workshop titled \u201cSocial Stigma and Its Effects Related to Addiction.\u201d The event aimed to shed light on the negative impact of social stigma on recovering individuals and their families, as well as explore ways to reduce this phenomenon in society.<\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, along with several department heads, unit managers, and staff members.<\/p>\n

Discussions during the workshop focused on defining the concept of social stigma, particularly in relation to individuals recovering from addiction, and how stigma can become a barrier to their reintegration into society. Emphasis was placed on the critical role of raising awareness about the community\u2019s responsibility in supporting those in recovery and encouraging them to rebuild their lives free from addiction.<\/p>\n

The workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational and social institutions to foster a culture of tolerance and awareness about the dangers of social stigma. This effort was recognized as a vital step in combating addiction and supporting recovery initiatives.<\/p>\n

This event is part of a series of awareness activities organized by the institute to enhance community understanding of significant social and health issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
