Workshop on Social Stigma and Its Effects Related to Addiction at the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Studies and Planning Division at the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra organized an awareness workshop titled “Social Stigma and Its Effects Related to Addiction.”<\/em> The workshop aimed to highlight the negative impacts of social stigma on individuals recovering from addiction and their families, as well as ways to reduce this phenomenon in society.<\/p>\n

Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, attended the workshop alongside several department and unit heads and employees.<\/p>\n

The workshop addressed the concept of social stigma, particularly concerning individuals recovering from addiction, and how stigma can act as a barrier to their reintegration into society. Discussions also focused on the importance of raising awareness about the community\u2019s role in supporting recovering individuals and encouraging them to build a new, addiction-free life.<\/p>\n

The workshop emphasized the need for collaboration between educational and social institutions to promote a culture of tolerance and awareness of the dangers of social stigma. This was recognized as a crucial step in combating addiction and supporting recovery efforts.<\/p>\n

This workshop is part of a series of awareness activities organized by the institute to enhance community awareness of important social and health issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
