The Administrative Technical Institute in Basra Holds a Workshop on Exam Cheating: Causes and Solutions
The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the Administrative Technical Institute in Basra organized a workshop titled “Causes of Exam Cheating and Methods of Addressing It.” The event brought together faculty members, administrative staff, and students from various administrative departments.
Participants included:
•Dr. Haitham Mohsen Kareem, Head of the Accounting Technologies Department.
•Ms. Manal Abdul Hamid Abdul Majeed, Head of the Materials Management Technologies Department.
•Amir Mahmoud Kazem, Head of the Public Relations and Government Communication Division.
Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Kazem delivered a comprehensive lecture during the workshop, addressing the causes of cheating from psychological, social, and educational perspectives. He also proposed innovative and effective solutions to tackle the issue.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of cheating in exams, exploring key factors such as academic pressure, inadequate preparation skills among students, and the influence of social environments. It also presented strategies to address these challenges, including raising awareness about academic integrity, providing psychological support for students, and improving exam monitoring practices.
The event concluded with an open discussion session where students contributed practical suggestions to combat this issue, fostering an improved educational process and creating a healthier academic environment.
