Sponsored by the President of the Southern Technical University, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of the Technical Administrative Institute in Basra, the Research Unit held a workshop entitled “The Impact of Keywords in Raising the H-index and Improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO)”, presented by Eng. Sanaa Hassan Zboon, Head of the Studies and Planning Division.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Iyad Abdul Khaliq Yahya, Director of Scientific Affairs at the University, and Professor Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, in addition to a group of lecturers, researchers and members of the Institute.

The workshop addressed the importance of choosing keywords in scientific research, and how they affect improving the appearance of research in search engines, which contributes to raising the H-index for researchers and enhancing the reach of research to a wider audience. The workshop also emphasized the role of keywords in supporting the university’s plan aimed at publishing and promoting solid scientific research.

The workshop received great interaction from the attendees, and contributed to stimulating discussion on the importance of research citation and mechanisms for improving it in a way that enhances the university’s position in the academic community
