Maintenance of computers affiliated with the Electronic Calculator Center is one of the important units in the institute because it takes upon itself the responsibility of repairing and maintaining computers and devices attached to them in scientific units and departments. The responsibility includes the following:
1- Repairing desktop and laptop computers and replacing their broken parts.
2- Download operating systems as well as applied and scientific programs for the curricula for the first and second stages.
3- Conduct an update to the software installed on computers.
4- Repair and maintain attached devices such as power devices (UPS), printers, scanners, and data display devices.
5- Conducting maintenance of laboratories and computers in scientific departments and connecting computers to internal networks.
6- Providing support and assignment to committees that work on modern computers and systems, such as the examination committee, the student reception committee, and the electronic form.
7- Receiving summer training students for the purpose of training on the tasks assigned to the unit.
8- The Computer Maintenance Unit staff examines new computers and their attached devices as the technical committee and submits reports on the validity of the devices purchased for the institute.

3. Participation in the Student Discipline Committee formed at the Institute in accordance with the Instructions for Student Discipline in Institutions of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. (160) in (2007) for the purpose of discussing student problems and supervising the implementation of the instructions related to student discipline, since the Legal Division represents the competent authority in implementing laws and instructions. Then, it is presented to the institute’s council for the purpose of approving the imposition of the penalty, and then the special decisions are displayed on a bulletin board.
4. Approving contracts concluded by the institute, pledges, loans for teaching staff, and advances for employees, and opening a special register for that.
5. Review all competent police stations and courts regarding lawsuits filed by the institute against others (such as forgery lawsuits committed by students or employees), as well as lawsuits filed by third parties against the institute, and the consequent necessity of the presence of the legal representative for the purpose of recording his statements and then following up on the lawsuits.
6. Attending meetings of officials of the legal divisions of the university presidency.

The Internal Oversight and Audit Division is one of the most important divisions of the Institute because it is the tool through which the administration can achieve effective and self-monitoring of all the Institute’s activities in its various departments. Finance Division
One of the important people in the institute that promotes various financial activities, as it is their responsibility to organize matters of disbursement, financing, and salaries, and settle various accounts, prepare the trial balance, complete the final accounts at the end of the financial year, and follow up on the amounts of advances to the purchasing, maintenance, and miscellaneous committees and for all other advances. In addition to supervising the warehouse activity, which organizes the process of entering and exiting the institute’s goods and purchases and the warehouse control cards according to a work program on the computer.

1) Monitoring and auditing laboratory specifications in accordance with the requirements of approved standard specifications.

3) Follow up on the implementation of calibration programs for devices and equipment with the relevant authorities.
4) Coordinating to open programmed courses to train laboratory workers according to specializations and in accordance with international specifications and national standards.
5) Coordination with the laboratory accreditation department at the university, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Agency, to develop and improve the performance of laboratories to achieve laboratory accreditation by one of the competent and relevant authorities.

The Environmental Pollution Research Unit was established at the Technical Institute in Basra in accordance with the Ministerial Order establishing the unit No. 27/7/13633 on 8/27/2007. The laboratory unit consists of workshops (carpentry, plumbing, welding, filing, turning, Plumbing) to train students, as well as a machine shop (milling, planing, grinding, Specialized and general turning, and CNC machines).
In addition to the process of training students, the laboratory unit carries out By holding practical and theoretical courses for the institute’s cadres and the cadres of the rest of the state ministries in the field of formation and operation of engineering materials. As well as providing technical and practical support to researchers from the institute’s professors and researchers to other private and governmental universities.
The Laboratories Unit has many other activities, such as holding annual exhibitions of student works in various workshops and projects, in addition to participating in the ongoing maintenance of the institute’s contents, which falls within the unit’s jurisdiction.
Unit work tasks:
1. Conducting practical exercises and training on the use of equipment and tools for each workshop.
2. Identify the various methods of operating, maintaining, and installing machine parts in workshops.
3. Knowing how to handle hand tools in addition to how to make measurements.
4. The ability to optimally choose the appropriate work method from among the different operating methods.
5. Emphasis on the safety rules followed in the workshop unit in general, as well as special safety procedures according to the workshop in which the training takes place.
6. The Workshops and Laboratories Unit contributes to completing the work assigned to it by the Deanship of the College and the scientific departments.
7. Supporting the maintenance unit and the internal departments unit in the college by providing advice, carrying out some maintenance work, or lending the necessary equipment and tools to complete some of the work assigned to them.
8. Participation in implementing reconstruction projects in the college through implementation committees formed by the Reconstruction Unit.
9. (Practical) supervision of fourth-year students’ projects in engineering departments.
10. Teaching a course on manufacturing operations and a course on maintenance and repair (the practical part) in the workshops of the laboratory unit
It undertakes everything related to requests and complaints from citizens (auditors – students – teachers – employees). It is linked administratively to the office of the Dean and adopts the principle of cooperation between the Deanship of the Institute and all citizens with the aim of completing transactions and overcoming the difficulties that the citizen may face during his review. It is considered the main outlet for receiving requests for complaints, inquiries, suggestions and grievances in a way that enhances the creation of a spirit of trust between the citizen and the Institute.
Unit tasks:-
* Receiving citizens, listening to their complaints, and directing them to the authorities concerned with their requests.
* Receive all requests addressed to the Dean and present them to him to express his opinion on them.
* Direct supervision of organizing interviews for the Dean.
* Entering citizens’ requests according to an electronic system in the citizen e-government program, within the form on the ministry’s website (citizen e-government), so that the citizen can follow up on his request through the program.
* Communicating with the citizen about the action taken regarding his request or complaint by phone, email, or review.
* Receiving citizens’ requests via phone or email from the Citizens Affairs Unit and referring them to the relevant authorities.
* Submitting statistics on the number of interviews conducted by the Dean to the Citizens Affairs Division at the university.

Tasks and duties
• Approaching state departments and the private sector to reserve training seats to train first-year students.
• Follow up on the students included in the training and distribute the teaching staff to the training sites. And achieving a balance to cover scientific supervision with the help of technicians.
• Follow up with provincial colleges and institutes to reserve training sites for our students wishing to train in other governorates, as well as receiving provincial students wishing to train within the geographical area of our institute.
• Coordination with summer training committees in scientific departments to distribute students to training sites and issue administrative orders.
• Holding periodic meetings of subcommittees in scientific departments to discuss the summer training work plan. Follow up on changing the training curricula for scientific departments and present them to the sectoral committee for approval by the university
• Issuing administrative orders regarding the distribution of scientific and practical supervisors to training sites.
• Consolidating the monthly reports of the scientific departments, including the progress of summer training, and presenting them to the Dean for submission to the university.
• Preparing the annual report for summer training and sending it to the Scientific Affairs Department/Curriculum and Training Division at the university.
• Follow up on receiving summer training reports for each student, documented by the scientific supervisor and the practical supervisor.
• Preparing the plan for annual scientific visits and following up on its implementation.

Be responsible for maintaining the institute’s buildings, environment, and mechanisms, and following up on its services by developing skills with high efficiency in the service of building society
Maintenance tasks and work:
• Maintaining the institute’s electrical, water and sanitary installations, as well as all types of cooling devices.
