Awareness Team at the Technical Administrative Institute Issues Important Guidelines for Coping with Rain and Flood Risks

As part of its efforts to raise awareness and ensure public safety during the rainy season, the awareness team of the Citizen Affairs Unit at the Technical Administrative Institute has issued a set of important guidelines and recommendations. These measures align with Civil Defense directives to minimize flood risks and protect lives and property.

The team emphasized that staying calm and taking the right precautions can significantly reduce potential dangers. Citizens are advised to follow official updates from media and government sources regarding weather conditions. Additionally, it is recommended to store official documents and important papers in a designated bag for easy access in case of emergencies.

The team highlighted the need for caution if water enters homes, urging residents to disconnect all electrical devices from power sources and avoid approaching transformers or generator boxes to prevent accidents. In case of severe flooding, moving to higher floors with essential supplies is advised.

The recommendations also stressed the importance of supervising children to prevent drowning incidents and following official evacuation instructions when necessary. Citizens were also warned against driving into flowing water and approaching flood areas out of curiosity, as this poses serious risks to life.

In the event of an emergency, the team urged citizens to immediately contact Civil Defense at 911, a free emergency number available on all networks, to ensure swift response and assistance.

Safety is a shared responsibility, and awareness is the first step toward prevention.
