Awareness Seminar on Intellectual Extremism, Its Impact on Society, and the Role of Education in Mitigating It

Sponsored by the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and the supervision of Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs at the Technical Administrative Institute in Basra, the institute organized an awareness seminar titled “Intellectual Extremism, Its Impact on Society, and the Role of Education in Mitigating This Phenomenon.”

The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hind Ali Sabri, who discussed the various dimensions of intellectual extremism and its negative effects on the social fabric. She emphasized the critical role of education as a key tool in curbing this phenomenon and promoting the values of moderation and tolerance.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Iman Askar Hawi, along with several faculty members from the Technical Department and students of the institute.

Held in the institute’s conference and seminar hall, the event featured productive discussions and exchanges of ideas between the speaker and the audience, adding a scientific and educational dimension to the seminar.
