As part of the fourth day of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Week, the Technical Administrative Institute in Basra organized an awareness seminar titled “The Risks of Cybercrimes Targeting University Students.” The event witnessed significant engagement from students and faculty members, with active participation from officers of the Iraqi National Security Agency.
The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Technical Institute, Dr. Arkan Yaqub, along with several department heads and faculty members. The event also featured the notable presence of Mr. Amir Mahmoud Kazem, Head of the Relations and Government Communication Division.
Led by Assistant Lecturer Elham Omir, the seminar covered essential topics on protecting personal information, avoiding cybercrime traps, and recognizing the dangers of online fraud. Speakers emphasized the importance of caution when sharing private data, verifying fake accounts, and reporting suspicious activities.
This seminar is part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to promote technological and security awareness among students, contributing to a safe and advanced educational environment.
