In the presence of the President of the Southern Technical University and the Dean of the Basra Technical Institute along with their assistants, the Department of Community Health Technologies held its first annual scientific and artistic festival at the conference hall on Wednesday, 27,3,2024. The conference focused on commemorating World Water Day, the relationship between water and security in the region, and the significant climate changes that have altered the water distribution map. Several professors presented lectures: Prof. Naif Mohsen Aziz from the College of Science / University of Basra delivered a lecture titled “Water, Sustainability, and Security in Iraq,” followed by environmental expert Dr. Nouri Abdul Nabi Nasser, who presented on “The Effects of Climate Change on Water Resources in Basra Province.” Then, Assoc. Prof. Nurs Jameel Jasim gave a scientific lecture on important modern water purification methods titled “Sustainable Solutions for Water Recycling.” The conference concluded with a lecture by Dr. Rana Kamel Aziz on “The Importance of Implementing Sustainable Development Goals to Improve University Rankings Globally.” Additionally, informative posters were displayed at the festival to commemorate World Water Day. At the end of the festival, the Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the esteemed speakers.
