Faculty Member from the Administrative Technical Institute – Basra Participates in Career Guidance Program in Erbil
Dr. Ilham Omeir, a faculty member from the Department of Legal Administration Technologies at the Administrative Technical Institute – Basra, part of the Southern Technical University, took part in a career guidance program held in Erbil under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The program, organized in collaboration with the TAWASOL Project – Iraq and the Canadian organization WUSC, featured a consultative workshop that explored the current state of career guidance in Iraq’s technical universities. The discussions drew on survey results reflecting the perspectives of university officials, students, and private sector representatives.
Participants also examined the essential requirements for developing an effective career guidance model that aligns with labor market demands and helps students make well-informed career decisions.
This participation reflects the Southern Technical University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of technical education and strengthening the role of career guidance as an academic and professional tool to empower students, build their competencies, and prepare them for the workforce.
